Gay Pride Is Anti-God

Pride is the foremost of the seven deadly sins. It is fitting, therefore, that the so-called LGBTQIA2S+ agenda* proudly uses the term “gay pride” as its rallying cry.

Pride can be simply defined as “an excessive love of self.” An overly proud person closes oneself to God’s help, insisting, “I am fine as I am.” Those who celebrate so-called gay pride are allowing themselves to be the center of their own worlds, embracing an anti-God mentality that our Creator was imperfect, that Jesus was wrong, and that the Bible lies.

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27)

“Jesus answered, ‘Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one’?” (Matthew 19:4-5)

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals…will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

We all were made in the image and likeness of God, and humans were created to have sexual relations with the opposite-sex. Thus, we are obliged to be who God created us to be. But then in walks pride to seduce many same-sex-attracted persons into listening to Satan and rejecting God.

Scripture clearly tells us that the road to Heaven is narrow, while the road to Hell is wide. Regrettably, too many Christians believe the modern lie that most if not all people will get to Heaven. This includes their erroneous belief that if Jesus walked the earth today He would bless so-called gay marriages, and He would agree with the left’s mantra “love is love.”

These are lies that Satan is all too delighted to spread. He isn’t called the father of lies, the evil one, and the tempter for nothing. Satan finds glee in realizing mistaken views like the ones surrounding homosexuality will end up causing many to not worry about making immoral decisions because they need not fear any negative consequences.

In this battle for one’s soul, Satan makes someone believe that Jesus loves him or her just the way he or she is. This falsehood tells the person involved in immoral acts such as having heterosexual relations outside of marriage or having homosexual relations that I don’t need to change my ways. I don’t need to fear any negative, eternal consequences such as ending up in Hell.

Jesus loves the sinner, but hates the sin. Recall how He told the woman caught in adultery, “Go, and from now on do not sin any more” (John 8:11). Our Lord loves us so much that He wants us to stop our sinful choices and change the parts of our lifestyles that go against His Father’s commandments. What that means for same-sex-attracted people is to not succumb to the homosexual agenda’s belief system and to not perform immoral acts.

Jesus is called the Savior because He “gave Himself for our sins that He might rescue us from the present evil age in accord with the will of our God and Father” (Galatians 1:4). Jesus came to earth to save sinners and rescue all who believe in Him from imminent danger of offending God. In Jesus’s own words, if you won’t repent from your offenses and amend your lives you will be thrown “into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth”(Matthew 13:41-42).

Celebrants of so-called gay pride are called to stop embracing not only the deadly sin of pride, but also another sin – that of lust.  Since resisting sin isn’t just about avoidance but about replacing vice with virtue, here are a couple of practical swaps one can make.

For the sin of pride, swap it out for the virtue of humility. Admit your faults and think less of oneself. For the sin of lust, swap it out for the virtue of chastity. Do not see people as objects to be used.

For those who are parents, you must be upfront with your children about the existence of evil in the world and the reality of Satan. You must explain that Jesus calls us to “be perfect, just as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” This means we are to work hard to resist the temptations of the world, including the secular culture’s number one focus these days of welcoming the so-called LGBTQIA2S+ lifestyle.

Too many of today’s generation believe Satan doesn’t exist, Hell isn’t real, and getting to Heaven can be assumed. Don’t let your children fall for this falsity. Discuss with them why Archbishop Fulton Sheen said the following:

“Before the sin, Satan assures us that it is of no consequence; after the sin, he persuades us that it is unforgivable.”

Of course, we all are targets of the evil one regardless of our age or sexual orientation. We must constantly resist the temptations of the devil because Satan never sleeps. He distracts us from God, tempting us to adore sensual things and attractions of the world rather than to adore the Lord.

Satan distorts the truth and provides all the rationalizations why something is right, even though God and the Church teach it as wrong. Especially during the month of June with the world’s fixation on homosexual lust, Satan lures many into the sin of pride to believe they can build their own little kingdom here and now without any need of God.

God calls us to love and this includes compassionate concern for others’ eternal souls due to the sins and errors into which they fall. This includes our responsibility to combat the depravity of so-called gay pride parades, promotions, and partying not by staying hidden and silent but by openly rejecting these falsehoods the secular culture pedals. It also includes praying that those who are following the so-called LGBTQIA2S+ agenda* will get their confusion corrected and will realize homosexuality is indeed a disorder in which no one should have pride.

* Regarding the “so-called LGBTQIA2S+ agenda”: LGBTQIA2S+ is the latest politically correct acronym used by the culture to describe people who don’t follow the original manner of sexuality as intended by God and who want to be categorized according to their sexual appetites. The only reason I use this elongated, seemingly infinite, reprobate term is purely to magnify its ridiculousness, similar to how absurd it is that what seems like every month a new flag is designed for the latest sexually debased behavior.
